Writing went very well today/tonight. I was just about to hit a wall, when my brain found the way out. From there, the story just exploded through my fingers, reminiscent of my first draft of book 1 (Recombinant). Man, it felt so good to have my fingers just flying across the keyboard, story surging out as my brain is skipping ahead to what’s next. Haven’t felt that feeling in a long time, so it was nice to hit that flashpoint again. Where everything around me melts away and there’s only me and my keyboard and the story flowing through me like a lightning bolt. Feels good. I will definitely cross 20K tomorrow. It’s halfway to being a novel, but I expect this book to be about 80K-90K on the first draft. Next draft will be the major fixes, things I left out (things I didn’t even think of until I finished the book), and deepening the story. Making sure every location stands out, every character is fully developed, and details, details, details!
