Woohoo! Today’s writing started off hot! I just crashed past the 20K mark! I realized that I’d left out a scene that I’d had in my head for Chapter 3. When I went back to check something for POV, I realized it wasn’t there. And it’s an important point in the story. So, before starting Chapter 5, where I meant to start, I’d already written over 1K for the left out scene. Wow…was a little stunned when I checked the numbers so I wouldn’t misreport them on the spreadsheet.
Taking a break to deal the cat monsters and clean up their ubiquitous mess and grab something to eat. Hopefully not in that order….eeeuuwww.
Okay, after dinner and cleaning up after the monsters, I hit the keys again and kicked out my highest word count of the dare. And my word total is just over 23K. I’m picking up steam as I set my next milestone at 40K. That officially makes what I’m writing a novel, but that’s just a technicality to me. It’s a novel when I’ve tied up all the threads of the story arc and left the remainder to carry over into book four. This is book three of my True Purple series. Book 1 will creep out into the world soon as an ebook in a story bundle. So, I’ll need to get book 2 in final form and ready for launch soon. Recombinant will be the third book I’ve released. The novels always make me nervous because there’s a lot of my heart and soul in those words. And this series is the one story I’ve kind of kept for myself because it means so much to me.
